drowsie
A pillow speaker that pays attention to your sleep — and an app that learns which sounds actually settle you. So you stop picking. Stop guessing. And sleep through the night.
Your brain cycles through 4 sleep stages every 90 minutes: N1 (light), N2 (deeper), N3 (deep), REM (dream). N3 — deep sleep — is the one that matters most for repair, memory consolidation, and clearing metabolic waste. You want 90+ minutes of it every night. Most people don't get half that.
Light temperature, room temperature, stress, food — all of these matter, but they take hours or days to influence sleep architecture. Sound is different. The right sound — at the right volume, on the right rotation — can hold you in N3 for an extra 20+ minutes a night. The wrong sound, or no sound, or the same sound you've heard 100 times, can pull you straight out.
Sleep researchers call it auditory habituation. After your brain has heard a sound a few times, the neural response declines. By Week 3, the rain track that worked on Day 1 is background noise. By Week 6, you're back to scrolling at 1 a.m.
The only fix is rotation — keep your brain's response high by introducing novel-but-similar sounds before habituation sets in. Manually doing this is impossible (you'd have to wake up to swap tracks). Automated playlists don't work because they don't know which sounds work on YOU specifically.
A thin speaker (about the size of a TV remote) slips under your pillow. The speaker senses motion through the pillow. The app, paired over Bluetooth, learns from the data which sounds hold YOU in deep sleep — and rotates them automatically through the night, before habituation kicks in.
You don't choose. You don't open the app. The system runs itself.
Ships September. $199/year. Speaker included. Waitlist members first.

Every night, Drowsie measures what helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Over time, it gets sharper — choosing sounds based on what your body has actually responded to. The longer you use it, the better it gets.
Pick what sounds good — rain, waves, a story. The speaker tracks how long you took to fall asleep, and how well you slept.
Patterns emerge. Drowsie notices what works for you on hard nights vs easy ones. Your "tonight's pick" gets sharper every week.
Your routine is ready. Open the app, tap once, and the right sound plays — chosen from data about how you actually sleep.
After 30 nights, Drowsie knows what puts you to sleep.
Two different approaches to the same problem.
Calm · Headspace
A library of sleep sounds.
You pick one. You hope it works. Tomorrow night you pick again. The app plays through your phone — so the whole room hears it too.
Drowsie Sleep Club
A system that learns what works.
Tracks how you sleep. Figures out which sounds help. Plays them through your pillow every night — automatically, and only to you.
I cancelled Calm within a week. This is what a sleep app should be.
Switched from Calm
"Calm was fine for meditation but useless for actual sleep. Drowsie is built for it."
Tinnitus relief
"First time I've fallen asleep without the ringing in eight years."
Partner-friendly
"My partner sleeps right through it. That's the whole point."
Actually sleeping
"I cried the first morning I woke up actually rested. Not exaggerating."

Why should I buy the new Drowsie?
Because every other sleep product asks you to do the work — pick a sound, set a timer, wear a thing, charge a thing. Drowsie V3 disappears under your pillow, learns what works for you, and quietly plays it back. Your partner hears nothing. You sleep through the night. It's the easiest, most private way to fall asleep to sound — and the only one that gets better the longer you use it.
What's in the box?
A Drowsie pillow speaker, a USB-C cable, and a card with your app download code. That's it. No brick, no manual, no 40-page setup.
Will my partner really hear nothing?
Nothing. Sound conducts through the pillow fabric to your ear, not through the air to theirs. That's the whole point — and every reviewer confirms it.
How is it different from Calm?
Calm gives you a library. Drowsie learns which sounds actually put you to sleep, and plays them every night. Plus, the speaker — Calm doesn't have one.
Do I have to use the speaker?
No. The app works with AirPods, a Bluetooth speaker, or your phone. But the speaker unlocks private listening + automatic sleep tracking — and it's included.
What if I hate it?
60 days, full refund, we pay return shipping. Cancel in a tap from the app. We'd rather you stop than resent us.
Is the current Drowsie going away?
No. Existing Drowsies keep working forever. V3 is the next generation — same product family, smarter hardware and software.
What's actually new in V3?
Two big things. The speaker now tracks your sleep under the pillow — no wristband or ring needed. And the app learns which sounds put you to sleep, then plays them on autopilot. Lie down, drift off, stay asleep — automatically.
When does it ship?
September 2026. Manufacturing is locked, dates are firm. Waitlist members get the first wave.
Why a waitlist instead of pre-orders?
The first wave of V3 is reserved for waitlist members — mostly existing Drowsie customers upgrading. We're keeping it small so we can ship clean, support every customer, and listen carefully. Sign up and we'll send your early-access invitation before public launch.
